I'd be tempted to repaint, but perhaps in a two-tone satin and about 4 layers hand-rubbed. Since the chrome is not very chrome anymore, a neat trick might be to aluminize and then seal - it'd leave this effect, but not degrade any further.

That would be a neat avenue to go with for the chrome. I wonder what the engine looks like considering there are no pictures.

Hmmm...It is more about the cruising, and the experience, so I'm going with convertible.
